| Get involved | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Another
important part of a zoo staff's work is to make people more familiar with
the animals in their care.They hope that if people understand the animals
better they will do more to try and save them. Zoos have many ways of
getting people involved and making zoo visits both interesting and fun. Enclosures are often designed so that people feel part of the animals' world. It would be a thrilling experience to enter into the proposed lion safari in a safe vehicle and see the animals at a closed range in the world of their own. |

| Volunteer your services | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Though
the zoo has its own well trained staff , there are some situations where
we would appreciate any help provided by volunteers . Doctors , veterinary
surgeons and other trained professionals are welcome to volunteer their
services and help in the conservation of these magnificent wild animals.

| Donate liberally to a worthy cause ! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The
zoo is funded by the Andhrapradesh Government through the AP forest department
. We also receive grants from the Central Zoo Authority . But feeding
and maintenance of the animals is an expensive affair. Often developmental
activities have to take a back seat as the available funds are used up
for the essential services. The zoo invites philanthropists , NGOs , business
houses and the general public to donate liberally to the zoo. Donations
can also be made in the form of services or products , for example pharmaceutical
industries can donate much needed medicines and other dietary supplements
. Farmers can donate fodder , seasonal fruits , vegetables etc. and lend
a hand to this worthy cause. |

| Adopt an animal | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Many zoos
run schemes for adopting animals,from ants to rhinoceroses. People pay
to adopt a whole, small animal or collective adoption of a larger animal.
The money goes towards the animal's food and general care. The person
or organization receives a certificate, a photo of the animal and a plaque
with the name of the person / organization on it is displayed on the animal's
cage. Another good idea would be for schools to encourage an entire class
to collectively adopt an animal , the students can contribute small sums
from their pocket-money, not only do the students get a chance to learn
about the animal , it also fosters a sense of unity and team-spirit . |
